Meet Early Years Inclusion Consultant: Shona Morris
I am a Early Years Inclusion Consultant and have over 30 years’ experience as an early childhood teacher.
Throughout my career, I have worked as a director and teacher in community kindergartens, however, have also taught in long day care centres, prep, and facilitated teacher-led playgroups. I then chose to focus my passion for early childhood on inclusion and moved to Autism Queensland where I facilitated early childhood autism-specific groups for three years before moving into my current role as an inclusion consultant.
In addition to an Early Childhood degree and Bachelor of Education, I hold a Graduate Certificate in Autism Studies and will complete a Masters of Autism Studies and a Graduate Certificate in Educational Leadership this year. My goal as a consultant is to build strong collaborative partnerships with teachers and educators, and in working together, create learning environments where all children belong and thrive as confident, active and engaged learners.
